I just found a cool new feature that I hadn't heard of on this forum.
When I turn off my car the radio stayed on. I thought oh no, a factory defect.
Then I opened the door and it went off. Time to pull out the old owners guide.
Sure enough there it was, turn off the key and the radio and windows will work for up to 10 mins. or untill you open a door.
Driven 180 miles and all is well. I love seeing the MPG on this thing go up as I break it in. My Color is also cool.
Only thing I found to complain about is the Shaker 500 is picky about what CD's
you can use in it. Memorex and Sony don't seem to work that well and will eject saying Bad Disc or skip. The CD's I found that work well are the Maxell and the TDK's.
Also loaded some MP3's today and they sound great.

Yea my Envoy has the same features. I'm pretty sure it's standard on most newer cars.

I almost posted about that... but, knew I would get told to read my manual.. LMAO

I actually noticed it when I got my car. My sales guy let me sit in the car til hubby got there to sign paperwork... as I am waiting, I am setting all my dials, etc... hubby arrives, and I pull the key... look up at the sales guy and go, "Um, the radio is still on." He says, "yeh, until you break the seal of the door." Sure enough, open the door, off it goes.

My daughter thinks its kewll as poop.

I deleted the Shaker 500 from my vehicle order just for that problem and will go with the standard CD/AM/FM combination until I find a suitable aftermarket problem. My car will look similar to yours - V6 Coupe.

Yeah when my friend was driving her families 2001 GMC Seirra it too had this feature. And one night we sat in my driveway for 20 minutes borded & playing around with it. That and the power seats & butt warmers (and it was like July). Then I was skimming the owners manual here on the site & found out that the new Stang had it too.

Of course I pretty much got bord playing with it for 20 min in the Seirra so I really don't care that it's on the Stang. It's neat but not a necessity, for me anyway.

it's kinda nice for when ya forget to roll up your windows, and you already pulled the keys out. The windows will still go up as long as the door hasn't been opened.
