New 12 in Sub

Today I had a Subwoofer installed into my trunk of the 07 Stang. I have a Shaker 500 and I was missing the deep sound of a sub. I don't like rattling tail lights I just like a full rang of sound.
The 12' 500 watt Blaupunkt Subwoofer that I bought from Apple Valley Ford is just right for my car. It isn't to much base. The sub came with a 500 watt amp/crossover , cables, and volume control for the sub. The only problem I have noticed is that ever once and a while the sub will discharge like it is getting a shot of voltage. Anyone have any ideas on how to stop this from happening .

Lol, Zippee should get back to you with an answer shortly, Gary. He follows through.

Definitely interested in hearing how it turns out!

And you'll probably have better response at TMS if you post stereo questions here.

The Dealership called a factory rep to the dealership to look at my sub. They found that the sub was hooked up right as far as the instructions goes. But the instructions were wrong! They hooked the sub the second time up to a switched cable so when you shut the car off the sub is dead.

Good to hear you got the problem fixed!

Sounds like you have smart people at your dealership, it's nice to hear. Local dealer techs had to fix Ford's transmission instructions when they rebuilt my transmission last month.

Did you replace one of the existing 2 subs or go with a partial trunk delete?

No!!!!
I now have 3 subs.
The 2 subs powered by the shaker 500 that moves my pants legs ,and the new 500 watt sub in the trunk, moves my back of the seat!
I don't like the music of today, I like the hard rock of the 60's ,so a sub is necessary to me! I don't want to rattle my tale lights or have people know that I have a sub standing on the side walk. I like the extreme deep tones!
I am a extremists and that is why I own a Mustang GT!! I am a kid of the 60's and proud
of it.

I will get the pictures on soon as I can. I have a Mac without the photo editing software. It might be a few weeks.
The sub tube fits PERFECTLY between the back deck and the floor of the trunk. It is strapped to the back deck so it doesn't move at all. The 500 watt amp is attached to the side of the Sub. No drilling No splicing. TOTALLY Plug and play

Good thing they found the problem. The batteries are horrid to begin with on these S197s. You'd be stranded with no juice!

I have to take the car back to the dealership. I think my sub blew a fuse. My windows, heater controls and my sub doesn't have any power. We'll see what they will say tomorrow.
