#@%$ %@^# @&#% Need Help

Ok, to make a long story short I've got a new job in Galveston for a GC. Anywho I walked off the site with a pretty good amount of oil based paint on my pants (without my knowledge) and sat in my freakin car. Oh and lest I forget, the paint is white and my leather is black (dark charcoal).

What product can I use to remove this paint without also removing my leather?

If you want to tell me I am screwed, please be gentle. I love this car very much and have kept the interior pristine since 2005...

That sucks something major. it may be better to get new seat skins. if you want to try and save them, look up a good auto detailer in the phonebook or ask around and see what they think.

Try a product called Goof Off. http://www.goof-off.com/ It works really well.

It doesn't say if it's safe for leather or not, but you can try it in a hidden spot and make sure it doesn't harm your leather.

You may be also able to get take-off seat covers.

I had some gum on mine and there's nothing I could find to remove it without damaging the fabric. Recommend take off covers. http://www.ninosport.com/Take-Off-Interior-s/465.htm

On the factory leather, try WD40, your fingernails, and some patience. I would imagine you'll be able to get it off especially once dry, since it probably is not flexible enough to survive you moving it around with your finger pressure moving it around. After that, hit it with some Mother's leather care.

HTH.

Good luck getting it cleaned up. If you do need to replace the covers you can consider the 2010 take offs.

Well I went to a trusted car wash today and asked the manager if he had any ideas. He came out with some solvent that took 90% of the paint off. It didn't leave my leather looking too fresh though. At least now it looks good from a distance.

I wish this stuff was weak. Its designed to stick to rusted iron and is a three part paint. Pretty much nuclear. I'll definately give this a shot though.

Worth a shot.

Thanks to everyone for helping me out. I wish I had more time to really think about this but my jobs got me pretty busy right now. I guess I'm thankful for that too though.

Go see a professional retailer and ask them about it. They have commercial grade stuff that you can't get at napa or walmart.
