need a constant 12v source...

You could tap into the factory stereo wiring harness for a constant 12V. If you get a "factory shaker -> aftermarket head unit" wiring harness for $20 from crutchfield, it would be the yellow wire. There's alot of room to go from center console area to the footwell area (I have a 1.5" diameter bundle of wires going that way).
Then if you need a switched 12V, you would use the red wire. But this isn't ignition 12V, it's ignition + stays on for 2 minutes or until you open the door 12V.

Dang, any other ones under the dash? The stereo is aftermarket and is a pain to get in and out (alpine avi-w202). I got the switched 12v taken out of the ignition, so thats hooked up and ready to go. Only thing i couldnt find was a constant 12v. I will use the stero if i have to , but **** that will suck pulling the hole center console apart and having to re-allign the headunit again (pain in the a$$ for this particular head unit)

and yes, i have 2 battery chargers. When i dont dirve the car for a few days, i will yank the negative terminal off.
i e-mail innovate and asked why a constant has to be hooked up. I dont like draw on my system when the car is off. Just dumb imo.
Depending on the draw of it, i may put a toggle swiitch on it or connect it to my remote start button.

Well, the stereo wiring harness is just the one I'd be most comfortable pulling current from. Do you have factory door subs? Maybe you could tap into the power wire for one of the door sub amps. Or your arm rest 12V port (not the one above the stereo opening, the one inside your center console).
That's pretty easy to get to.. just remove the center console area and you could tap into the wires going to the armrest 12V socket. And then you could run the wire under the panel, fish/hide it under the driver side console panel, and run it to whever you need it in the footwell area.

I got an e-mail back from innovate - apparently is to zero out the needle when the car is off, so it really isnt needed other than for looks when the car is off. I want to show this car when its completed, so will be worth the extra hassle to get it wired up.
