My First Audio System Install. Hertz.
Just wanted to show what I did and that it was a perfect fit for our cars.
This was my first try at doing this.
Adapters are not perfect, but you can't see them inside the doors.
I installed 3-way component speakers up front and 5x7 in rear.
I used Hertz HSK-165XL with the 28mm tweeters and Hertz HL-70 midrange with a three way crossover powered by Fosgate T400-4 bridge at 242 watts per channel. Hertz 570 in rear powered by HU Avic-930BT for rear fill only.
I moved the mirror **** to the door.
I didn't want the tweeters on the a pillars because I didn't want the sound to bounce off the windshield.
I know nothin about car audio but a lot about home audio. I know glass is your enemy at home, I assumed that it is the same in cars.

looks good though!
The crossover are inside the plastic barrier; I noticed that when it rained, the outer side of the plastic barrier was wet, not the inside.
You don't think that's enough protection?
Should I wrapped the crossover with kitchen cellophane plastic?
Thanks

Thank you guys,
I sweated my @ss off doing this in the sun, wish I had a garage.
The sound is like night and day, but!
I might have made a mistake by putting the tweeters there; I fell that they might be to close.
Ive read that a good soundstage should sound like if is coming from the motor, farther than the windshield, I do not have that.
I still have to play with it. I need to remove the doors and try the following: -1db to driver tweeter, and +1db for both midrange and see what happens.
I'm running these speakers from a Rockford T400-4 bridge.
Today I got the Rockford PEQ **** that brings bass and highs up to 18db and it made a huge difference.
Much better sound. But I really need to dynamat the plastic that forms the housing the original 8" subs, they can't handle the new speakers.
They might not go as low as the subs of curse, but they are way louder and still can put some decent bass.
Next, I like to get a single 10" sub in the trunk, I'm not looking for big bass, just want to hear a small sweet perfect punch below 40 Hz when needed.

Ok, just found something with bass, Rihanna Dj pon the replay or something like that. Eq flat on HU and Rockford PEQ set to 0 bass/high gain it was too much bass for the doors to handle.
I can't believe how much bass these 6.5 woofers put out. I really don't need any subs added if I was to play music like this.
But I listen to mostly rock and it needs a little more lower punch.
I really need to fill these door trims with dynamat

Yea the doors tend to be a problem when the bass gets heavy. I have CDT EF-80s in the doors(8in woofers) and they sound great. They handle 20-400Hz, but I've found I've had to dial them back and cut out some of the lower frequencies to get them to blend with the rest of the system, even with heavily deadened door panels. I have a 12 in the trunk to take care of the low end.

Also, I'm really intrigued by these speakers. Never heard of hertz until you posted. Looked around online some and they sound like they make/made really high end stuff.
