Mustang in the Trunk: Custom Enclosure for dual 12"s
Sorry it took so long to get these up. Installed last week, but didn't get batteries for the cam until yesterday (you'll notice I forgot to reset the date). In any event, here are a few shots of my custom enclosure for the 05+ Mustang. Tyler Chubak from TC Customz was great to work with. The box arrived promptly and in good condition. Solid build quality (3/4" MDF), and the fiberglass matches the redfire exterior perfectly. Sound is quite good, though not as loud as my previous build, which used dual 1 ft^3 chambers. The total volume of the single chamber is 1.93, which is still close to specs. Of course I've never had the gain set higher than 20%, so extracting the same volume from this setup required less than a 1/16 turn of the screwdriver. Other perks: Recovered about a 1/3rd of my trunk space. As you can see from the top down, I now have access to all the space under the lid. Plus, the box is custom cut to match the countour (that weird slope) of our trunks perfectly, so even with my driving habits, that puppy never shifts around. All in all, a great purchase. I'm very happy with it. Enjoy the pics.
