Helloo,

I'm real interested in purchasing an MRT shift ball, I like them alot..however I've heard from some people that have bought aftermarket shift ***** that there have been some boot problems. (boot not staying up, snug to bottom of ball) Can I hear some testimonials from people who have an MRT shift ball, or who have any knowledge in this regard? Thanks in advance,

Erik

I have one (MRT) and like it a lot. u wont have the boot problem if you buy a large washer that you can install on top of the nut to hold it up. or you can do what i did and cut the bottom portion of the stock shifter **** and use it as the washer.

I have the bezel shift ****. I do have a boot gap at the bottom of the shift ball. I haven't done anything about it yet though.

I really like it.

I used the washer idea, along with a second jam nut, and the fit is very flush. Just make sure that the washer is the same size as the boot ring on the bottom of the stock shifter.

They have the correct insert to make it fit the 05 SILLY they just sent me the wrong one! They knew it as soon as I called and told them it wouldn't fit, they even said oops sorry of course that doesn't help me out much! I will post a pic AS SOON AS I get it installed.

OK here is the best pic I can get! The white tends to be too bright and a flash washes out the pony and tri-bar! I love the new feel of this shift ball!

Thats the one I like the most, do you just call them and ask to get it with the 05+ thread pattern?

Well they told me they had the insert to make it fit the 05. We ask twice before we ordered it. When they sent me the second insert it still didn't fit. I was tired of waiting and took things into my own hands. My wife called them back after I got the ball installed and they still SWEAR that they have an insert to make it an easy install on the 05. What it boils down to is you need them to send an insert that fits their ball and reduces the size to a 12mmX1.25 thread. They kept sending me the insert that went to a 12mmX1.75 thread. I love the way it looks and feels! I have the Saleen short shift adapter installed and it helps give the shifter back some of it smoothness while maintaining the short throws! I love it.
