Might Need a Little Help
I'm having a little problem with my system not working and I wanted to see if anyone thinks they know what might be wrong. As you can see in my signature, I have a 12" JL Audio w6 subwoofer and JL Audio 500/1 amp. The amp is mounting to the back of my seat and the sub box sits in front of our wonderful trunk hump. Usually when the system shuts off, it's simply the speaker wire disconnecting from the sub box. However, I can't get the thing working at all now. All the plugs going into the amp are fine and the amp is working (I get the green light when I turn on my car). The sub is not working at all. I assume that if I had blown the sub, I could still get something from it, but I am getting nothing. I checked if my amp had a fuse that might be blown, but it has no fuses. If anyone has any suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Check wiring inside the enclosure. WHile it's open, check your VC's with a multimeter. If the resistance reads 0, time for a new sub. Also, check your RCA wires. They're usually pretty fragile, and a tug can break them. It's easy to temporarily run some to test.
