Lighted Sill Plates

Got my Moss Mustang catalog a few weeks ago and saw Lighted Sill Plates from Ford Racing. Just curious how they would really look. Not necessarily a mod i would do. Does anyone have these or know someone who does?

I think the might look ok, but the pricing is just stupidly high for what it is.

I agree. Moss says they're a Ford Racing part but nothing on the Ford Racing site.

I've seen them before. They look good. But when are you going to see them? No one else will see them except for passengers and such.

never seen those particular ones installed. got something similar in my wife's lexus. it is from the factory though. gives it a nice touch every time you open the door.

would do it, but the price is holding me back. bought a set off ebay for my mazda 3 i had a few years ago. i think it was like $35 for a set of 4.

Anyone who has these - can you please take a picture of the underside? I'm interested in seeing what they're using as a light source.

Thanks.

Yes, they are a FRPP product and can be found in their catalog. I've been thinking getting these, but haven't yet. Their "cool" factor would be limited to when you open the doors at night, so they really wouldn't be a mod that would impact or wow the masses. Rather, they would be seen by your closest friends who would be likely to be with you at night....and I like the idea of having a bit of wow factor, for my friends to see. And yes, they are expensive for what they are....but most mods are....so you pick and choose how you'd like to spend your money.

I ordered some parts and will be attempting to mod my door sill plates into lit plates.

Anyone have any suggestions on how to cut letters out of the aluminum plate? Laser cutting service? Or what?

For what its worth...

What it would cost you to buy some LEDS/ light source and whatever other parts you need + the cost for someone to cut the letters out in a respectable fashion...

you might as well pick the FRP ones up which is plug and play. I had my dealer (who sells FRPP) pull the instructions and there is literally a Y adapter that comes with the kit the plugs into a connector in the passenger A Pillar

Already ordered the parts. I can't control my buying impulses when it comes to this car. I think, I click, I buy.

If I can get these cut for $50, I'd still be saving alot of money.. but I have a feeling it will be alot more than that.

It looks like they're cheaper because it's just a rectangular cut-out instead of each letter being individually cut out. Does anyone have a day shot of these installed? I'd like to see what it looks like against the sill.
