Any chance I have to show off my Mustang! With flash, and with just the interior blue leds. Pioneer D3 dvd player nav unit, real carbon fibr trim, Mustang name plate, Mustang embroidered console cover...on and on and on. It's never ending.

I took the plunge and sprayed the center stack trim bezel silver. It turned out flawless and I like it. Somehow it seems more complete the way it forms a "T".

I have three more interior mods I want to do then I am calling it quits. I am going to do a Ford Escape e-brake boot, a satin cup holder insert and e-brake handle.

Where did you pickup the CF trim pieces?

Hey Angelo, that came out fantastic!! What brand of paint and color did you use? By any chance, was it the same Duplicolor Import Silver used for the window switch plates? I've been contemplating either doing the center stack using a separate piece from Steeda or painting it. Your right, it does look complete!! Thanks for the help.

Jeff, paint it silver man! Don't waste good money on stick-on trim. What you cannot get with the stick-on trim is the nice roll of color at the bottom of the plate where it joins the console.

I debated on painting the center trim bezel or just the two outer wings like I have seen someone else do. I decided painting the center trim bezel would look most like what Ford would do from the factory. I was worried I would not like the big black brick for a radio but I think it looks fine and it would not look any different than a big dark square for a navigation sceen. I went an looked at interior pictures of the Ford Flex and that finalized my decision to paint the center stack bezel silver.

What I just noticed in my pictures is I should have taped off the upper center tab that slides in under the vent trim... But really it's no biggy..

The paint I used the is same I used for the door switch bezel trim and speaker rings. I guess the Duplicolor match depends on the color you have used already but I used Duplicolor Truck, Van & SUV paint #T191 Ultra Silver Metallic in the 11 oz. cans. It seems to be the most brilliant silver matching the IUP dash trim and silver painted dash vents perfectly. Some time ago, I used the import silver originally to paint the door switch bezels and speaker rings and it looked too bronze to me, so I repsrayed with the Ultra Silver.

Also, it's very easy to remove the large seat back recliner ***** on the sides of the seat if you want to paint them as well. To me it looks just as good without spending a lot of money on billet replacements. The are fastened exactly like old time window crank handles that slide onto a splined shaft with the C-clip retainer that you release on the **** shaft from between the seat cushion and the seat side trim. The power seat button also snaps right in place. Just pull it off.

My interior painting and trim projects are almost done. All I have left that I want is a ebrake boot, satin silver ebrake handle and a satin silver cup holder insert. I have just enough silver constrast against the black now that my Pony no longer looks like a strippo-basic black interior.

Watch devil, interior looks great. Simple, but makes a statement. Question thou. How did you install the shifter boot over the automatic shifter and make it fit so well. Let me know. Thanks.

I removed the PRND321 indicator bezel so that the boot sits deep like the manual transmission models. The Interior Uprade Option bezel for manual transmission cars just snaps in place in the same opening. Optionally you can remove the boot from the IUP bezel and install it around the PRND321 bezel which will look much better than the flat cheap looking piece that is used without the IUP package.

The only other thing that is required for fitment is to carefully enlarge the shifter opening in the center of the boot.

This will work with any Mustang manual transmission boot, IUP or not.

I came across a new Ford Expedition the other day with the silver painted center stack bezel and standard a/c controls just like the Mustang has. After painting my center stack bezel silver I realized that the way I done it looks exactly the way Ford would have done it if they painted that way from the factory.

How much did that shifter boot cost you? the dealer quoted me $202 today, he was as surprised as I was. Also, if you don't mind, do you have the part # for it?
