I don't think you can go wrong w/ a JL. They make some of the best speakers in the business and have been doing it a long time.

well the box set up looks pretty nice. I am wondering what sort of size amp to run this. It says you dont even have to drill to install. Wonder how they attach it. Anyway looks cool, have a dealer 7 miles away, will have to check out what they say about it. Later all.

they use the holes that are in your trunk for the Shaker 1000 sub encloure, believe it or not ford was so cheap that instead of drilling the holes only for the Shaker 1000 equiped cars they did it for all mustangs running down the line

i was going too until i found it its $1,000!!!!!!

im sorry, but 1k dollars for a single sub and box is too steep for my blood. 5-600 i would have bought it. Instead I picked up some kicker L5 10's (2) and built some nice ported boxes. Subs were 300 total from a local car audio shop, and 70 dollars in box supplies.

no wonder i couldnt find a price on these, no one stocks them and i doubt JL will sell many of them at that price.

From JL:
"We only sell our product through your local JL Audio dealer. Also since this is a vehicle specific enclosure, a dealer will not have this in stock. They will need to order this for you.
The weight of this enclosure is at 40lbs. The retail pricing is $999.95."

The L5 is a fine sub. Here's a pic of my L7.

Yeah, that's why it's not perfect around the sub. I cheated. I put the sub box where I wanted it, put the amp on a mounting plate and put it where I wanted it, then measured it out and cut that 'cover board' to fit. Just wrapped it in some vinyl and wallah!

FYI - I built a partial box for the amp. It's got the front plate, a bottom , and both sides. I painted it black. Now when I fold down my left rear seat, there's a handy storage compartment there.

Once I get some nice weather, some free time, and off my lazy azz... I'll move the sub up another 1/2 inch so it's centered properly. Oh well, no biggie and nobody sees it back there.
