Installing speakers this weekend...
#1
I finally got my speakers in (after a small ordering snafu), and was wondering... I noticed
that Crutchfield sells a harness for the speakers to plug into the the same plug the stock
speakers are plugged into...
Is this Harness necessary? If i can do it without the harness, can you give me a brief rundown
on how I would accomplish this? Ive installed speakers and whatnot before, but since I havent
cracked open the interior to check out whats there, I feel like Im kinda flying blind.
Any push in the right direction would be super
thanks!

Used these for my installation and they work great! They will keep you from cutting the factory harness, making for an easier install. Also, I thought that Crutchfield will send them free with speaker purchase, you may want to invest in a quick call to one of their advisors.

The harness is not necessary, you can just cut or tap into the factory wires as long as you identify which is positive and negative. That being said.... I got the harnesses for mine since I figure my time is worth the few bucks.
