installing a backup camera

am new so I asked this in the wrong forum.

Turns out this is not quite as simple as I thought
Could someone please show me the best way to connect the receiver to a power supply (near the rear view mirror)? Also where can I connect the reverse wire(that powers when shifted into reverse)?
I have a 2006 GT convertible.
All help will be MUCH appreciated.

Under the console is where you can get your reverse wire for powering it when in reverse. The console comes up very quickly and is easy to access. As far as power near the mirror, use the overhead light unit. It is just held up with a couple spring clips, so don't worry about it being hard to remove. Just pull it down on one side then the other. You can power your item from that wiring and is easier to use than running over to the right side A pillar. Good luck.

Here is a service manual link that will help you if you don't have a manual. It fits the 2005 up models and has a link for the 2011 models also. It is good to use for wiring schematics and seeing what is different between the years and what you can or can not add to make something work. Good luck with your project.
