Installed GT500 Dead Pedal

I recently installed the "GT500" dead pedal. My 07 GT, with the interior upgrade package, already had these pedals. It makes a nice addition and I like having the dead pedal to rest my left foot and expect it will help with carpet wear as well. Found the dead pedal at Americanmuscle.com. Just thought some of you would like to see this installed. BTW I covered the firewall insulation normally showing above the carpet with some black vinyl that I had left over from a previous project.

I wanted the dead pedal at first to go with my other pedals but now I don't even care if I ever get it or not.

That dead pedal is tiny. I bought one for $30+ from a vendor here that makes them for the S197 and it covers the ENTIRE dead-pedal area of the carpet.

yeah, sorry but that "gt500" dead pedal is a joke. i got a different one off of ebay that is aluminum with raised rubber grips, so it pretty much matches the oem aluminum pedals too. also, it fills the whole dead pedal section and looks much better imo.

The problem I have with those that actually cover the area is that they all seem to require putting holes in the carpet. And then you have this one which would be near perfect if it was just bigger. Also I think I read about it rubbing on some cables.

snapped a quick one with my pocket phone. not the best quality, but good enough i suppose.

it isn't a perfect match. i would have preferred that the lines went horizontal, but this was the closest i could find.

Could we get some more details on that ebay one? How does it install? Who makes it? What is written on it?

Thanks. That would be perfectly functional given it doesn't require putting holes in the floor.

Lightbulb

One of our local club member's showed up tonite with this one. It's from the Ford500.
Part Number 5F9Z-7412020-AAA. I think it is perfect, and Functional, without being out of place, and goes with all Pedal Variations.

The factory pedal covers i think are stainless steel, not aluminum

i can't find the exact same one i got. they come and go. but this might be better since it doesn't seem to have the lettering. would have got these if they were selling them at the time: click here

the lettering on my pedal is " ac schnitzer". they are an aftermarket tuner for bmw i believe. like mine, most of the ones on ebay are knock-offs. the real ones are much more expensive. it attaches with 4 screws. i just put 2 thin pieces of scrap wood under the carpet and screwed into them. i think a paint mixing stick would work too.

try looking up the sections for the "premier trim with color accent package" these are the 08 and 09 mustang brochures. the 07 one didn't open for me, so i couldn't include it.

The brochure says aluminum pedal covers, but they sure look and wear like SS. Someone do a spark test.
