Info on more reasonably priced wooden wheels

I'm not sure if this violates the advertisement policy on the boards, but I know alot of guys are looking for replacement wooden wheels, and I finally got a response from a company who makes them.

http://www.rau-autowood.com/mustang_select.htm

They offer various types of wheel finishes, but I specifically asked about the Oak one. Here's the part of the email they sent that I'm sure most people care about.

"
We make the mustang wheels as a 1-piece wood wheel or a 3-piece. For the oak wheel we steam bend quarter sawn oak to get the distinctive ray pattern. The 1-piece is 585 and the 3-piece is 895. Completion is about 10 days. Color can be adjusted to your needs.
We can work on your specific wheel or use one of ours on exchange.
Please, contact me via email or in Los Angeles @ 310 445.1128 to place an order or to discuss any details."

I'm waiting to hear back on the specific differences between their 1-piece and 3-piece designs, but at 585 I'm seriously considering getting one.

Apparently I was overthinking the concept of a 3-piece wheel, but all it really means is that there are 3 pieces of wood to cover the gaps between the wheel spokes. The 1 piece consists of only the top portion of wood. So the wheels in their pictures are all 3-pieces.

As far as I can tell they don't list their prices on the website; that's why I was e-mailing them in the first place. They might add them soon, but for an exact price you'd probably have to e-mail them. I assume that their prices are near constant for each wheel, but I could be wrong.

My question would be to see if they offer a 3-piece wood steering wheel without any leather sections in it. That would look so much better and more retro.

i agree. the wood/leather look seems a bit weird. wood look much better if it was all wood. although, the carbon fiber/leather one looks sweet!

Someone on here did that to their Shelby GT using the carbon fiber and man it looked freaking awesome. If I remember right the price was HUGE though. I do not think it was affordable my any means much less cheap! Looked killer though lol.
