Crap!!

I also got a pro install from Circuit City......

I am going out on a limb to guess the AUX button powers the sat?

This better look good, I am having it done! Otherwise it will live forever in the boombox.

It'll require some custom installation (the aux button doesn't just have RCA plugs on the back)...but very cool!

I am bloody terrified...........

I also got an install with it from Circuit City its all set up. Betcha Dollars this will be their first 05 install so I am not sure I wanna have them ruin her. I am VERY happy with the shaker, the skyfi was a request before I knew I was getting Eleanor.
Not sure what to do!!

Try to keep the install as low profile as possible. You want to have easy access to it and be able to read te display. What you don't want is any unneccesary holes in the dash or visible wiring. I have seen a few good skyfi installs, but have seen some bad one's as well. It is also important to inspect the car for damage after they are done. I had some speakers replaced in my Eagle Talon done by CC. After they had finished I paid them and got in the car. I closed my door and something didn't sound right. I opened it up and saw my door panel was cracked. They were going to let me drive off without telling me. They ended up replacing the panel. Always check the work!!.

I would definately hold out on having a bunch of Circuit City first graders butch up my 05 Shaker. First of all there is no wired interface cable available yet to do this job properly (hooking it into the AUX) and the fact that they don't know that upfront says more than enough. As far as I know the only way to hook it up so far is over an FM modulator, which of course will work but is not really the point of having digital radio

Anyway, I would either do it myself or have a pro shop work on it. With all due respect but the best car audio installers usually do not work at Circuit City. Also before anyone starts installing anything in your car make sure YOU decide where you want the unit to go! There's nothing more frustrating than getting your car back with something installed in the last place you would have put it yourself. There's a ceiling install example in one of the earlier posts here.

I have decided I don't want my car drilled into. I have been having nightmares about what they will do to her.
Hard part is going to be letting my husband know------He got it for me+ the install.

Like I said, I had a skyfi in my olds, the original plan was to just slap it in for a replacement.... I didn't know I would have a mustang on Christmas morning.

Well all's not lost. There are several people on this forum on the lookout for that wired interface and it will pop up sooner or later. Then all you need is a reputable installer to do the job for you, which should take about an hour so it won't break the bank. I would definately advise you to wait for the interface. You can have it put in with an FM modulator now, but then one day the wired interface shows up, you will want it redone and they'll have to pop your dash again, which is best done as few times as possible. Especially if you love your car like you do

CRAP!
They would have to pop my dash??!!?? Not happening-- not ever!!! Eleanor will not have surgery!

The Sky fi is going to have to go back......I have it running through a tape player in the olds(jury rigged) so that wasn't going to need installed.

I will take the $ and get an easy share instead......Keep me sane.

I don't think you have to open the dash for an FM modulator install.
