That looks great!

I think the big difference is that when you put the Hurst handle on the MGW the handle sits back alot further because of the design of the MGW having the handle towards the console.

Thanks for the Pics showing the examples of the Hurst Handle.

I prefer it with the MGW and sitting back more towards the Console.

Very Nice !!!

Thanks.

Narrowing the Hurst stick prior to welding the 5/8th bar allowed me to drop it that extra 3/4" to make it even with the console. It still retains the full adjust ability of the MGW setup (height, right left position, etc), just has a nicer looking stick/ball combo.

No Rich, I hadn't fogotten! I'm just following my normal MO of taking much too long to get around to the important things! My thanks to you for the idea and the handle. I have George at MGW to thank for installing the shifter (there is a story behind this). By the way, the ball is from Grabberpony in Dark Highland Green (this is another story).

I really like the handle and the shifter--an almost perfect combo IMHO.

Talking

GRAYPNY

Hi Rich,

Well Buddy I just wanted to say I really enjoyed the Hurst Conversion you did for me some time back.
It is now in a Buddies 08 Bullitt here locally that I run around with.
He is now really enjoying it as he has now got to drive some with it.

Your Time and Effort has not gone to waste.

I just had Brenspeed do a complete change in my Bullitt to the Auto Trans.
See below Pic.

Hey interested in this...
Is this the shifter handle your talking about?
It says it doesn't fit OEM... but will it fit the hurst handle it sells with?
And does the ball have the hurst logo on it?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Hurst-Shifte...#ht_668wt_1076

THanks

He sells one that doesn't have the ball handle so you can use your own. It certainly won't fit OEM, pull your shifter handle off and pull off the boot and you'll see real quick why it won't work. The OEM shifter doesn't have a shaft that can be removed. But the MGW does.

Not quite sure I'm following you...
I just purchased the MGW shifter, and obviously by the thread contents I want to use the Hurst Shifter handle and white (logo'd) hurst shifter ball.
Just trying to find which one is the correct one to purchase...
Ordered the MGW with this thread.. Threads: 12 MM x 1.25 FINE PITCH
Any help is appreciated
Thanks

What exactly is your question as I am confused as well?? If you want to use a Hurst stick/****, the shaft you received with the MGW will not even come into play. As the OP stated, to use the Hurst stick (the one linked to ebay is correct) you will need to modify it and weld a piece of 5/8 in. round bar to it. Not that it matters, but the Hurst **** and handle have 3/8in - 16 threads... and the stock **** is 12mmx1.25, so it can be used with the MGW shaft you ordered.

I actually have a modified Hurst handle and black logo **** that works with the MGW if you are interested as I decided to use a different **** set-up.

Doogie said it. You remove the MGW shaft and never use it if you do this mod.

I didn't realize you bought the MGW, you were asking about OEM, that's what threw me.

Hurst Handle on MGW Shifter

Converted my MGW shifter to have the Hurst Handle. Also had my GO Shift ball added.
