How do you do it?

How do you remove the center vent panel (vents above cigarette lighter) without destroying it. I have seen posts on removing the vents but not the panel itself. I'm trying to hardwire my sirius unit and going behind this panel would be perfect. Any PDF's on this anywhere?

It's not a seperate panel. It's part of the dash.
They usually just reach up under there and mount the antenna with 3M automotive tape.

yes, it is a separate panel but you have to take most of the front panels off in a certain order since some overlap the others. The main speedometer/cluster panel can snap right off as it has nothing overlapping it. The you will need to take off the passenger airbag to get the center panel off. The airbag is not difficult at all. Just make sure to disconnect the battery and it is only connected by about 2-4 screws from the bottom and then just unplug the cable. You make have to remove the glove compartment first, which is only held on by a few screws as well from the bottom. However the actual circular part of the vent that is connected to the panel basically just snaps on and off, it requires no screws.

Norm, This link will show you how to take of side molding around the radio. Some peolpe do this and attach the bracket on the inside with bracket coming out between plastic trim and black on strerio stack.
That's what a sterio shop here does.
I had a Hertz Shelby last weekend and there Sirrus controler was mounted on consol behind the atuo shifter.
