How'd it go? Where did you find instructions to install it?

Pretty well actually. I had to call crutch field a couple times to confirm wires going together but they were very helpful an answered every question thoroughly.

They're really weren't instructions nor could I find any. I bought the PAC interface and it made it a lot easier. Pretty much just match all the colors together and clamp them together. Plus the PAC interface allowed me to continue to use my built in stock aux port.

Good deal! What unit are you getting? Also are you having them install a brake bypass?

geh4 Feb 11, 2013 09:14 PM

Yes I am I found a local dealer called car sound and they said they will install the bypass for $20 extra dollars. I have the Pioneer AVH-X2500 BT.

Awesome, same unit here. Well if you get the iPod cable, let me know how app mode is. Debating whether I should get it or not.

I'm getting it all for navigation purposes pretty much so I have have to get the navigation add on I can just get an app that streams to the screen. I'll let you know how it is. Can't get it installed tell the end of February though. 😏

You could do yourself. Its really pretty easy. I've put a few different ones in mine now. Can have one in and out in about 30 minutes

how much is the navigation add on?

geh4 Feb 12, 2013 07:39 PM

I've seen on amazon for a navigation add on from pioneer was 600 but I find that hard to believe.

tu3218 Feb 13, 2013 08:02 AM

Yeah there is no way lol. If you have android, you'd be better off buying a used iPhone 4 for $200 an get the iPhone cable off eBay for $30. And use offline maps for navigation. That's what I may be doing with my gfs old iPhone 4. I like Google navigation though.

A Dustman Feb 13, 2013 01:30 PM

A lot of new decks have mirror link, which lets you use apps from your smartphone, including android, right on the head unit. These are a great option if you want navigation, but don't want to shell out the extra dough for a nav deck. Not that this really helps anyone at this point, just throwing it out there.

You get your unit in?

geh4 Feb 19, 2013 04:19 AM

No I haven't :/ everything is still sitting in their box at my house. I haven't had the time to run it over there. Think its going in the 28th!

Would like to see how you like the HU. about to pull the trigger on mine, gonna order through Crutchfield for the extras. Found it cheaper elsewhere.

I got my last unit for $300 cheaper on eBay and just bought the metra harness from Crutchfield for about $20 , since that was all I needed. I think everything they give you is only about $57 if you buy it separately , so it depends on how much cheaper you can get the unit for.

geh4 Feb 25, 2013 06:17 AM

I ended up getting my unit for 334 total and I ordered everything off of amazon and if I got crutch field I'm pretty sure it might've been 400. I would just look around and add up the totals of everything else that your buying say you're not buying from crutch field and see which one is higher or lower.

Now I have to dial in the EQ so my new speakers don't sound so muffled
