Great news about the Shaker systems
I recently spoke to a Rep from Crutchf*&ld.... just incase i cant say there name but you all know who i mean. He told me that the Shaker has enough power to run an aftermarket amp and subs... so if you are looking to upgrade you dont have to get a new stereo installed. Well i think it is good news because like the idea of putting my subs in my stang when i get it...
Sorry, but this post makes NO sense to me at all. What does the power of the Shaker have to do with anything if you are running an aftermarket amp and sub? You only need the line leve signal and that feeds into inputs that have VERY high impedance. Which is the tech speak way of saying there is almost no load on the Shaker at all, even if you split the signal to drive multiple amps (not recommended, but possible).
Maybe you intended to say something else and I just misunderstood you?

rot roh rhaggy - this post was 'fused.
Eaten: I think they tried to sell you. Like RRR sez: the only output to feed an amp that matters is what voltage is sent over the line-level feeds. That has nothing to do with a factory stereo, btw, just the quality of the signal you're feeding to really high end gear. I personally find crutchfield annoying - they give enough rope to hang so many of our co-owners that it's ridiculous ... and they charge near list or list on all the gear.

hey, listen, i honestly dont know what i am talking about... i have never worked on a factory system, only aftermarket... i have installed aftermarket parts and know that i can hook up an amp to aftermarket. I have never tried to do anything with a factory system. I just asked the question, "can an amp be installed to the shaker 500" this guy went into all this bull... you are right, i didnt mean anything about power. I was just happy that i could at my kenwood system to the mustang...
