Question Got a single hoop roll bar on order

I found one after much searching. It is a company down in florida and they make them for their cars and for others.

I should have it to me by next weekend. I will have to paint it and install it. They could paint it for me, but I was trying to save a few bucks. The roll bar shipping included is 395.00.

Did they provide you with specs on the weight, also what's involved as far as installation? Looks very nice!

not sure on the weight, just a basic steel tube bar. It attaches to the seat belt mounting points in your car (the front seat belt attachement points). He says you need to take out your passenger front seat ( 4 bolts and unhook the air bag sensor....disconnect the battery).

I will paint mine and take some pics of the install. I am down to 16 days till I get it and install it before Mustang Week in MB.

i think they can ship it to canada but alot of extra costs.

i can not wait to see it on your car, i am thinking about one and maybe have the removeable seatbelt bar added on, would be nice to have a four point harness. and then just get it powdercoated a nice gloss black or chrome it

what is the point of a single loop? Is it just for looks? Does a single loop actually qualify for a safety requirement in racing out there?

if you think about it it helps in the event of a rollover, it supports the structure of the roof when you roll so the roof will not cave in and will buy you enough time and room to get out of the car incase you land upside-down

Id be interested to see the removable bar too. Although that wouldnt be cert. Are these good enough for IHRA? I believe under 11.49 ET you must have a roll bar in a coupe and thats right whee Im headed.

I think the rule is a 6 pt for cars under 12 seconds? someone correct me here.

I got it to keep my shelby GT 350 look of my car. In 1967-68 shelbys had single hoop roll bars, mostly for looks. This should look good in my car.

Great for show but, that bar would not pass tech on any track I know. You must have downs in the rear other wise that bar will fold in a roll over. It has no lateral or diagonal support whatso ever.

Page 65.....http://www.nasaproracing.com/rules/ccr.pdf

Here's the one in my Mach 1.

Its 11.49 but yeah looks like a 6 point. Ouch thats gonna kill my objective of a stock looking interior.

Fastduo that is a sick mach, always loved that blue but yeah that cage sucks for a daily driver. Are you going to do a rear seat delete on that or just keep it as is

definately if i want to make a certifide road car i will buy a bare minimum V6 or GT used and then build it up so i will not feel bad about cutting up my daily driver

The single hoop with no side forward or rear support will give Very little support during a roll over. I would say it is mostly for show.
