The delivery man just dropped off two of my audio parts, one is an Alphasonik 10" sub: PSW410, and the other is my amp, Alphasonik PMZ12005A. The amp looks like a beast, 75Wx4 and bridgeable. It also has a mono amp built in rated at 200W, but it's also bridgeable.

The bridged power ratings per the website are 120 x 4 & 320 x 1 Watts RMS @ 2 ohms. Do you know with this kind of power if I will need a second battery or anything? I don't plan on listening to my music long at all while my car is not on.

I am also thinking about getting the Alphasonik 3-way component set: PCT6551. I contacted them about mounting depth of their 5.25" speaker and they said it was 2 3/8". Will that fit in the mustang where the 5x7" speaker is in the door?

I also plan to buy the headunit, the Kenwood Excelon 7015 double-din. Are there any other components I should buy to avoid the high costs that installers charge for them? I am definately getting this professionally installed, but the prices they quoted me for parts was insane. The amps they were selling were JL's and priced at $500 or so. They didn't even have the ratings the amp I bought has. I was concerned about quality, and I couldn't find any reviews of Alphasonik, but this equipment looks NICE. As in, pretty and solidly built.

Opinions?

You should be fine with the stock battery, I got a 12 MTX and a MTX amp bridged to 300 watts, and have not noticed any drop in battery performance. I also tested it out sitting in the driveway, car turned off, system really thumping, and 30 minutes later she cranked with no prob.

That's good to know. I was trying to avoid any problems with modding the doors to get speakers to fit. I think with this 3-way component setup I can avoid that and get excellent sound.

I wish more audio modders would post in this forum. I can tell you that I will be posting like crazy about the install and the sound after its all said and done.

I have a 450W (75 X 6) amp and haven't had any issues either.

Talking with some folks at another forum, I should be able to take that amp and bridge it for 150W X 2 @ 4ohms into the crossover of the component setup. Then have 320W @ 2ohms into the sub, which is a dual voice coil.

This system is going to kick some serious booty.

I had some Alphasonik stuff 10 years ago and it was pretty good stuff back then, cheap, but performed well and lasted longer than my Blaupunkt subs (hey back then they were the shiznit) I've heard that their stuff has gotten better and it's a little underrated, you should be happy with it. I'd step up to a better sub before I'd swap out the amp.
Can you post a pic of the stuff you got? I'd love to see it. And BE SURE to share once it's installed.
Oh, and the battery... you'll have no probs whatsoever. Enjoy.

I hope it sounds as good as it looks! Love the earplugs, I used to keep a set in my car for the crybabies.

Wow, that is one of the coolest looking amps I've ever seen. Hi-tech without being cheezy. Hope it sounds as good as it looks!
