Glove Box Light Install?

Well, I haven't even done the install of my trunk opening button in the glove box, but I'm thinking of a light. Had one in my '96. It was built into the latch. I don't think the '96 version will work in the S197's.

Has anybody installed a glove box light?

I installed one two years ago. I bought a glove box light switch off ebay and wired it to 12V ign on at the fuse box. You could also use a magnetic reed switch. My first attempt was doing this without the switch. That worked so long as the driver door was open. The switches are plentiful on Ebay.

I was just checking the switch/latch in my "Family Truckster" (Lincoln Town Car) and it might work. I just have to figure out how to mount one in the Mustang. The light bulb is integral with the switch, so all I would need would be a source of power and a ground.

When and if I get the trunk switch installed, I will have a ground wire I can use.
