I pulled this out of a truck tool box. It's the same stuff a lot of guys put in their garage toolboxes and it's also used in kitchen drawers to keep stuff from sliding around when you open the drawer.

This stuff is AMAZING! I had a hardcase suitcase (the real slick kind) in the trunk that kept sliding all over the place and banging around. I put it on this stuff, took a 3 hour trip and it NEVER moved! Went grocery shopping, same thing. Bags never moved and a 12 pack of soda didn't move either. Everything just sticks to this stuff.

I used to have a cargo net in my '03 and all it did was get in the way. And was too small for most everything I wanted to put in the trunk.

It sounds like that really works great....good idea! Definitely looks better than a cargo net imo.

Excellent idea. It's all over my house in all the cabinets, but never thought to use it in the trunk.
Thanks

Its great stuff...for those looking for some you can buy it in rolls at Sears in the tool section.

That's a good idea. I'll have to try that if my just-freshly-bought-and-installed cargo net doesn't cut the mustard.

really great idea! I found this "thing" at a salvage store, I think it may have been for a grill cover, but its HUGE, (brand new in plastic). There was no label on it, but anyhow, it was 2 bucks.

I got it and then spread it out, and it fits in my trunk. It works great!!

$2, couldnt beat it with a stick!!

I looked around online and found a brand called Grip-It if anyone's interested. Most of the ones I saw though weren't very big.
Where I used to work we sold pickup truck tool boxes and these mats came in some of them. One day when I was complaining about the suitcase sliding around my boss suggested trying one of them... FREEBIE.

I found some that is a solid black sheet, not the beige waffle design, at Lowes. Made to go in the bottom of truck bed tool boxes.

I'm curious, why not? It's worked great for me. The only drawback I've found is having to reposition it any time I take something out of the trunk.

I used that stuff to keep my two sand bags from sliding around in trunk of my '03 GT in the winters. It works great!
You can find it by the roll cheap, in with the kitchen stuff at Walmart etc...
