Sorry for the Cheapo pictures this is from a long day of installing so this is all I had the energy for. I will post all the other install pictures that I got from my camera later on a new thread or maybe just in this one.

I have alot more plans with this install as this kinda thing is a evolving project.

Here is a little clip of it in action on the test tableDOWNLOAD

Hey mbkowns - What OS are you using? This is a awesome idea. Also, how are you powering the computer -- from the battery? I can see sooo much potential here.

I've always wanted to do this but having a monitor in plain view is not safe.

I live in a good area and all but I go downtown and every once in a while and I would be scared.

if you guys visit http://www.mobilevideo4less.com/mobile-pc....source=findwhat you'll see several different models you can buy, especifically for cars. I want to get one when I get my car, probably the cheapest one. I'm sure you can connects tuners to it, it has all the ports to do so...

Those prices are way too high don't get mini-ITX they are slower and usually just raise costs in the long run. I use MicroATX its the same but it has 3 more pci slots. Its going in the back I am working on building a box that fits in the trunk right corner spot.

If any of you want to see this let me know I will do an install also

There is much too much to discuss about cars in computers. You should check out www.mp3car.com if you are interested.

MKB,

What are you doing for an FM tuner? I was thinking of using a single din head unit to keep FM, and then a single din slide out monitor for the touchscreen, but the double-din is definetly the way to go if there is a good tuner solution.

How can a mobile PC be made to switch on without a (or with a minimal) start-up delay?
