Explorer Navigation
I was looking at getting the pioneer avic-d1 for my 06 mustang, but then I heard about the new explorer coming with nav. So I wonder if it is easy enough to retrofit to the mustang. maybe one of the ford parts gurus could look into it.
Also if anyone has anything to say about aftermarket nav in the stang i am all ears. thanks.

I searched eBay for "Ford Navigation" under car parts:

I recently got a Garmin i5 from Circuit City, a great little unit! Around $500. A friend liked it so much he got a Garmin Street Pilot C330 around $700. It's bigger and is a touch screen. Both units are color and work very very well. Neither have to have downloads or CDs to load.
Garmin i3 (and i2 which is B&W) need to have maps downloaded, and only covers three or four states at a time. Also check out Tom Tom and Magellian.
Garmin/Magellian/Tom Tom work just as well as the installed ones, maybe better. They are portable, great for rentals or friends cars. They either suction cup to the windshield (not legal there in CA BTW) or have a semi-permanent mounting disk to attach to. There's not much dash space in a new Mustang, so I have it on an removeable coin/ashtray in the console. It's a bit awkward there, off the line of sight, but voice prompts are good too.
