There is a speed sensor in the 05. That is how the cruise and the speed sensitive volume work.

Thats weird I have the Eclipse AVN5435 sitting in the box because I couldn't get it to give me guidance without the VSS hooked up. At the time I got it knowbody knew where it was on the stand so I got a AVIC-D1. Reminds me I need to sell that thing. It's an awesome unit I wish I would have kept it in now.

Hey, roasted I was thinking about that same system. Do you have any pictures of the unit installed? Would really like to see what it looks like.

Thanks

If anyone is interested I'm selling my AVN5435 with about a whole two weeks of use on it for 1k. Should save you about $400 less then ebay.

A search on this forum tells you what you want to know. Check the numerous posts in the link below. I had an Eclipse 5439 installed early last year on my 05 GT and had the speed sensor (VSS) correctly located and connected with the help of posts made on this forum. Your navigation system may appear to work properly without the VSS connected, but believe me, it's not. By the way, I also had a rear view camera installed and am very happy with the Eclipse.

They are pulling your leg because they don't know where to locate the connection point. Probably looked through a manual searching for "VSS" and it is not called that anymore.
