Eclipse AVN5435 Help!
#1
Hey everyone! Long time listener, first time caller!
I just had one of those Eclipse AVN5435 systems installed in my '06 GT, replacing the Shaker 500. It looks great and the NAV system is wonderful, but it really sounds like crap!
I did a search and found posts by bpmurr regarding the same issue. It appears to be because the Eclipse does not have a crossover for the subs. I didn't read anything about it being resolved though.
Do any of you have this NAV system and the Shaker 500 speaker setup? Anyone using a crossover? If so, what kind? Any advice would be fantastic. I'd hate to get rid of this system.
Thanks a bunch!

i got one in my 05 stang and you might want to try to pick what displacement you want. such as, concert setting, church, club and so on. or try the equalizer. it says EQ on the screen.

The EQ won't help because the problem is that the mids and highs aren't being cut from the door subs. It makes everything sound muffled. The best bet is to call the Soundgate people and explain the situation. One of the items I posted will do the trick!

Thanks so much for posting, bpmurr! Gonna try that item you have linked.
I see in your mods that you have the Pioneer AVIC-D1 listed. Does this mean you gave up on your Eclipse install?

Yeah I did because at the time I couldn't find an installer that was good enough to get the AVN 5435 to work right with the Shaker 500. Thats not a problem anymore but I was impatient and wanted something for a trip I was going on. I kept the AVN 5435 thinking that maybe I might take a crack at getting it to work. I'm selling it as we speak. It's a very nice unit!

I think he was talking about full range sounds being sent to the door subs, which are designed for lows and low-mids.

Been trying to post again for a while, but everytime I come here the forum is "down for service" or some junk.

I have an ANV5435 in my '05...what does that crossover do specifically? My subs 'fart' everytime I turn the stereo on..does the crossover fix this or do something else?

Here's a link which explains why your subs fart, besides excess gas I mean, and how to fix it:

And yes, I was talking about the crossover being needed to filter out all the highs above 100Hz. Gonna try that LOCX and I'll let you all know how it goes. Hopefully will be installing it this weekend.
