Danny,

The car looks freakin' awesome. That interior freakin' rocks. That is by far the sweetest Mustang interior I've seen.

Looks good - I'd potentially be interested in one as well (black with black stitching).

Thanks!

Just finished installing the boot. I have to say I'm very pleased. Only thing that bothers me is that the leather handle and boot don't match. Then again if I'd kept my original ebrake or bought the MGW handle I'd be alright.

With out further a do here's the pics of the install and the final product. Thoughts?

Boot not as shiney as it looks in the pics.

Looks great. How did you get the console piece off?

Looks great man! I wouldn't worry too much about the color match from the handle to the boot. As you can see even the lower console is a lighter color than the upper. Matter of fact many interior parts are not consistant in color...

You forgot to insert one of the plastic tabs on the upper part of the console down into the lower console....

I am going to try a Ford Escape e-brake boot and see if it wil fit the same way... I wil be glad to get rid of that ugly plastic around the lever and that icky rubber seal in the opening.

Thanks. It's two screws under the armrest. After you remove those just lift it up and over the ebrake. BTW-Make sure to pull the ebrake up as far as you can before doing this. If you have an auto make sure to move the shifter down to 1st gear.

Thanks for posting those great instructions, Leo!

Only thing I do differently is shave off the plastic tabs so the velcro tape is closer to the edge.

Cheers

Your welcome. I did do that after I saw how it looked without trimming the tabs. I used a wire cutter to cut the plastic tabs. You're right, it makes a big difference the closer you can get the velcro to the edge.

I agree, I wish the boot matched my GT500 leather e-brake handle.

At some point, I may try to get leather to match the leather Ford uses for the wheel and shifter. Haven't tried yet since leather is tougher to sew and is much more expensive. I just don't want to be stuck with all that expensive material.

Cheers

The leather Ford uses is actually pretty thin... Considerably thinner than the vinyl you used for my e-brake boot. Quality leather would be much thicker and harder to work with. Ford's leather is like toilet paper...
