Door Speaker and Trim - What do you guys think?

Made some changes to the door trim and the speakers to dress them up a little and add some visual intrest. What do you guys think. I am kinda torn on the silver speaker trim....

Local trim shop. Bought 10 yards for $5. Its tungsten grey, not silver metallic. The speaker surrounds are Krylon metallic silver. Several very light coats and speaker cloth on the grilles.

With the silver around the door panel insert, the silver door handle, I I think the silver around the speaker looks great. I like the cloth on the speaker grill too. I have been thinking of doing that mod to mine.

that looks great. I want to do the same thing with my speakers (a la Foose style)

Could you post instructions on how you attached the cloth . I haven't really had a chance to look at mine, but since you already did it, maybe you could share the knowledge? Once some warmer weather comes, I plan on doing the cloth mod

With the speaker ring removed, I used a few dabs of weatherstrip adhesive to hold the cloth in place. The tabs of the speaker ring hold it taught and even around the edges. Really was very easy.

I love the speaker cloth and the rim around the door trim..very nice old school touch.

Not so sure about the silver rim. I have been trying to figure out what to change mine to since they seem clunky with the raised surfaces. The silver makes that stand out even more.

Thumbs up

I got the speaker fabric from eBay, for like $10 shipped. Great price for a mod that does what the door piping does - finishes it off IMO I secured mine by removing all of the screws and poking a hole in the fabric with an awl (or ice pick), then securing it down. I tried using a utility knife, but man that fabric is tough! Here are a couple of pics:

Custom audio/speaker stores will have it too, in different patterens and colors.

Wow, those spreakers look way better than factory. Guess I am off to go get some fabric this afternoon, nothing better to do than sit in the garage and watch it rain all afternoon here.

Maybe I'll try the reverse and buy some speaker cloth that is gray and leave the trim black?

Don't. It sucks other than having the 8" enclosure to refill with real drivers.
