Don't buy maplite accent piece or......
Well, more money down the drain and another lesson learned.I bought map lite billet piece and gt console cover from Shelby website(Scott Drake parts ) and I was not impressed. The maplite piece had 3m tape but it did not fully go around the sides,so the sides stuck out
It was real thin and if you sneezed wrong it would bend...Then,the console cover which I thought was leather, turned out to be vinyl..It had GT and MUSTANG embroidered in it which was pretty cool, but I didn't want vinyl..Plus the directions called for spraying adhesive onto your cover so if you screwed up,the whole thing would have been ruined..Parts Cheap doesn't have a pic of it yet(Been taking forever)but under it,it says that it is leather..
Also,Shelby website does not tell you how much shipping is until AFTER YOU RECIEVE AN EMAIL CONFIRMING THE ORDER
It cost me 13.00 to ship and now I have to pay shipping back to them for a refund.
Just thought you guys might like to know before you buy

Yes, I agree the map light piece is very cheap quality and fits very poorly. Someone other than Scott Drake needs to make a piece like this that actually looks nice once installed.
Like you it was $40+ down the drain.

Yeah Silverhorse would make a qualiy part
Also,I'm gonna get a leather cover and make my own..I can have it embroidered at a local shop here..I've seen threads where people mention tying it underneath..It doesn't look that great on the corners though
I'm not really impressed with the Scott Drake Powered by Ford emblems either, they're not holding up well to weather or car washes. I guess they were meant to be an interior item, not exterior. I'm going to change them out for the horse and tri-bar ones from the Pony Package. The Scott Drake chrome door lock ***** are holding up just fine though, they still look like new.
Map light trim
Agree. Installed and the edges stick out. I removed and put in my own double-sided tape. Still not perfect. I got it off ebay, not too expensive, but still money down the tubes. The light buttons fit good. ;-)
We're going to make a really nice piece for up there - but we're backed up at the moment, so it has to wait until we get caught up with existing orders.
You will most likely like what we're going to do, but I can tell you that it won't be 40.00. There's just going to be too much machining in what we want to make to hit that price point. Other than that though, we already have the pod assembly sitting in the "to do" pile...

Mike ,I had to send Maplite piece back anyway..Did it yesterday.Cost me 6.00..Oh well, such is life..Marcello,cant wait to see any new interior goodies you have in the works
Ok, we'll do our best to expedite production - although it seems we'll never get caught up some days...
Might want to check the MGW cup Holder thread - I thought it neccessary to post why our parts costs are what they are given the discussion going on in that thread with other manufacturers (besides MGW). It makes for an interesting, somewhat insightful post as to what goes into our products.

I had the same issue with the Drake Map Light Accent. Very thin and came with a few dents. Not up to par for me and I was disappointed. Ended up working out the dents, formed the corners to fit snug and painted with multiple coats of Silver Metallic paint to match interior silver. Spent way too many hours on such a cheap part but it acctually turned out pretty nice and looks factory (non-Shelby one). I also had to add extra tape to the corners.
With a little more time on my hand (vacation), I decided to correct the map light trim. I removed all traces of the double-sided tape. Like tpr_brent, shaped the "wings", applied contact glue and installed. Now it's solid. Time and effort on top of the money spent.
Ditto all posted above. It "looks" good, but the fit is crap and "I" know it's just painted Budweiser aluminum. I'll keep it there until Marcello comes out with theirs. I also got the bilelt caps for the engine bay and those did come out nice.
