I just put in a stereo system with navigation system and I think my two amps killed my alternator. I need to get a new one but i don't know if I get another stock will the amps blow it. that is why I need to know if anyone knows how much power a stock 06 mustang draws. I called the dealership but they said I would have to call Ford engineering in Detroit. Please help!

 

Not sure how much draw but my 06 has the Shaker 1000, came with 4 amps and I added one to it. No problem so far.

 

How many volts is it drawing at the battery? How many miles are on your stang? Pics of your new stereo?

 

What amperage is your alternator. I have two jbl audio amps a four channel with 500 Watts then a two channel is about 700.

 

As far as I know it is the stock 130 amp alternator.

 

Well I think I'm going to get the 135amp and see if that works and doesn't die on me. Thanks.
