Thumbs down Cheap looking Map Light housing

Has anyone come up with a good mod to replace the housing with something decent looking?

The stock Map Light housing looks HORRIBLE

I've never really thought the light housing looked cheap. Not sure what you mean. However I'm never looking at the map housing, since I'm always driving!

It doesn't seem to 'fit' as well in the convertible as the coupe. But wow, that's the least of my worries.

The plastic covering the inside of the A-pillar also looks a lot better on the coupe. OTOH, the map light housing on the S197 is a big improvement over the swivel map light on the Fox Mustangs.

I like the whole retro look of the interior. It's basic old school.

You can't really modify it yourself, if you have the AAT option, since that is where the sensors are for the Anti-Intrusion Alarm are located. If you don't have the AAT, there's nothing there.

I've been meaning to look around for some sort of lights to put in the back of the car. The front lights do a decent job of lighting things up, but the back seat and front footwells need a little something.

I have led switches in my Ranger for auxilary lights and stereo equipment. They're brighter than I thought they would be... how much light do you really need in the foot well? A simple flat switch only connected to power and grounded for the light may be all you need. You can see two of them to the right of the headunit above the stock fog switch. There is also one down by the cupholder that is always on and is the one that lights my footwell (not it's purpose, and also not a flush mount switch)

Not mine, but I stumbled across it one day. Only time I've ever seen this piece modded.

It IS unique. Looks like a good job too. Where did the power outlet go?
