car alarm thoughts?

Thinking about getting an alarm. Can't really decide, what are your thoughts on alarms. Pros/cons. It has been 15 years since my last car alarm and wonder what has changed as far as the technology is concerned?

How 'bout a 150 lbs rottweiler. Not very good for the upholstery though. Should've got the ATS .

just don't turn the sensativity up so that it'll go off any time a passerby farts. This dude in my old appartment complex would park his minivan... A MINIVAN... with the grille facing my bedroom. Any time a car drove by it would chirp. I can live with that if I have to... not much traffic in the parking lot at night. But on the nights there were storms, the **** thing never stopped. The guy would sit there in his place turning it off after a good 15-30 seconds, and then re-arm it. 2 seconds later, more thunder, and the F-ing alarm is goin' again.
What I should have done is thrown a cinder block through the windshield.... he wouldn't have been the wiser. But.. I managed to control myself. But, **** it was hard with the wife encouraging me.

Imagine how TacoBill's neigbors feel...He has a video on this forum setting off car alarms- it's pretty cool. He lives in CA, you shouldn't have any problems down in FL... although i suspect that he's not done with the exhaust mods yet, so maybe you might...

every once in a while... I think I hear something off in the distance... some eroneous thunder... but no clouds.
Perhaps it's him.
