With the heater or A/C control set at the floor position air comes out at both the floor and defroster just like when it's set at the floor/defrost position. Dealer says there is no fix. Work order says "Operational characteristic of this vehicle". Is this how your 05 heater works?

 

Yep, it seems there is very little difference between floor and floor/defrost functions-except that the AC compressor runs in floor/defrost. From what I understand engineering is aware of this and is working on the issue. If I hear anything further, I will post.

 

I think the a/c compressor runs in all positions......
