Is there anything that can be done to get more lateral support out of the stock GT seats? I have the red leather, and love the look, but seem to be bracing my knees agains the door and console more and more as I take corners faster and faster.

I really don't want to replace the seats, but realize that is probably the only option so I'm just preparing to live with it.

Thanks.

Quite some time ago I remember posts about going with cloth seats mainly for this reason. I remember having a '70 350 Camaro many years ago and it had cloth buckets and where you planted it, it stayed!
A small side problem is, went thru four sets of steel belt radials in 38,000 miles.
Would be nice to have some deeper seats, but I can only ask the Mustang gods at this price for so much.

Yeah, I agree. Cloth would have been better. That's what I originally ordered, but oh well.

My dealer took me for a ride in his Mach 1 (03 or 04?) and the seats in that thing had some real good side bolstering. I'm sure they designed the 05 seats with the fitment of many different size people taking a higher priority than good side support.

I'am positive the side bolstering could be upgraded reasonably at a good interior shop. My work trucks (one reached 298000 miles before I sold it) have had the seats refoamed, resewed, etc., on a number of occasions. I believe that if that is the only concern, a little ingenuity and a tip in the right place might make a lot of difference.
