Antenna connector?

Well I want to get rid of my stripper pole sized antenna. I bought a small amplified unit. However I dont want to take my entire dash apart to install it directly in the head unit.

I discovered sometime ago that there is a pigtail that connects under the passenger side dash. It looks like a BNC style plug but much smaller. I was wondering if anyone knew what the connector is called.

it looks somewhat like the image below.

The connector on the antenna is a standard one.

I would love to find a small pigtail that converts the smaller connector to a female version of the second larger one.

Strangely enough, most of the aftermarket adaptor manufacters think the connector is for chrylsers. I got one at best buy. Circuit city had them too in the install department. was about $10. Crutchfield has them too.

I bought mine from the audio installers at bestbuy. It was a female motorola to female Chrysler adapter (

The connector is referred as a chrystler snap lock.

the other one is a motorolla connector.
