Am I crazy.... Audiophiles checkin

I've never placed any value on a radio. It's just a noisemaker for when I don't want to hear the car running. I also never wanted it to be an item i had to worry about getting stolen.

Now the crazy part... I want a Reciever w/ a touch screen, NAV, IPOD interface ability and SAT Radio capability.

1. Do either of these have a detachable display that pops off to deter theft? (take the display portion with you)

2. Are these also am/fm? or just displays?

3. Any experience with either of them?

4. Am I crazy to put this in the Mustang or should I just save a little more and buy a supercharger?

I spend 3 hours a day in traffic..

Any thoughts or suggestions?

AGAIN, I'M NOT a hardcore audio guy until recently I've had interest in a fancy stereo. I don't know much about stereo's and dvd setups and navigation etc....

I'm open to any information you guys can give.

I would prefer to not have to pull out any speakers or pull out my shaker sub etc... and of coarse upgrade the speakers as I get money... need the head unit initially..

thanks
jake

I think you'd enjoy the Supercharger a lot more. I used to know everything about car audio. It's changed a lot in the last 10 years.

well.... lemme suggest something... try e-bay for the Kenwood.... and even still, I'd save for the SC if I were you.
I'm sittin' on the same fence. I have a Kenwood Keg KHD-CX910 (which is a mass storage unit that will allow me to put all of the music in my computer in the car and run from the head unit) and Serius receiver, and Phoenix Gold amp all waiting to be put in... I just need a head unit. I thought about getting one of the 7" screens from Kenwood, 'cause it'll run all of that, but I can also add a nav system... but what the hell do I really need that for? It'd be really nice, but.... do I really need it? do I even kinda need it? .... no. So, I'm gonna get a 2-DIN head unit.. the DPX-710 instead and call it good.
I'm quite a ways out from a supercharger... 'cause I want to build a new block for it first, but 2K on a stereo?.... I'd rather put that money under the hood.

I have the Pioneer AVH 6800 and it is a nice unit. I will have to pay a little extra to add the Nav capability but if if does get stolen it is not much more than what a stock shaker 1000 head unit would cost from Ford.
