Aftermarket system

Could you put aftermarket subs in the spot where the door speakers are on the shaker 500? Could you put 10" subs in there? If not, do most people put mids in there and then subs in the trunk?

Thanks.

I ran rockford fosgates in my doors for awhile. I built custom enclosures for them in the door which was easily to do. The problem is that I was running a 390 watt Boston Acoustic Amp which was pounding the hell out of the doors. I ended up getting a MTX thunder enclosure and run only one woofer with that same 390 watt amp. If I had it my way, I would get new door pannels without the speakers in it. IMO don't worry about the doors woofers if you are serious into your sound.

I agree with Sonic, you would need to dampen your doors quite heavy if you were to put aftermarket 8in+ drivers there. IMO it is better to just have a dedicated sub in the trunk and if you want you can place some mid-bass in that lower door location, maybe a 6.5 or 8in with crossover to limit it.
