Shortly after I purchased my mustang I had an after market cd player installed that was XM ready. I love it but they couldn't hook up the subs or amps. So the sound quality isn't what I'd like. I saw the threads on the Metra harness, will this solve my problem (if it ever comes out) or is there another way to hook up the amps and subs. I appreciate any help you all may have.

Chuck, Call the tech line @ Scosche 1-800-621-3695x3 they should be able to help you. I would go with their amps and EFX 5x7 speakers and they should have an harness to hook you up. good luck.

The way Ford installs sound systems almost requires that the whole system be replaced and and speakers completed re-wired. I have a friend who works at an automotive electric repair shop. He said the sound system components in the new cars actually talk to each through the wiring. So if you change the head unit it may not work with the factory amp or vice versa. Just repeating what he said, while he was trouble shooting the premium sound system in my f-150.
