Adding 2008-2009 Mustang Factory Ambient Lighting
OK, just got this in the mail today. They forgot to send me 1 jumper wire, and the lower console, but here are the part numbers for you if you are thinking of doing this. I'll post pics this weekend when I put it all together and figure out where to tap into for power.
upper console - 8R3Z 63044D90 BA
lower cup holder - 8R3Z 6313562 A
button - 8R3Z 13D806 BA
lamp covers (need 4) - 7S4Z 13E701 AE (black color)
jumper wire (need 2 - contains the LEDs) for the front - 8R3Z 14A411 B
Jumper wire for the back (contains the LEDs) - 8R3Z 14A411 C
clear ring for cup holder (contains the LEDs) - 8R3Z 14A318 AA
module to control lights - 7S43 13E702 AA
Lower console - didn't come witht he rest of it, so I have to wait.
There you have it. After fiddling with it, it should be quite simple to hook up - I might just tap into the harness for the auto tranny for power.
I'll post pics on the weekend.
Cheers

I had to do lots of digging to get the part numbers - and KC at Clevenger helped quite a bit. I got this all from Paul at Partscheap.com
1 530 230 5455
Ran me about $350 - but I didn't get the invoice with the package, so I assume it may still be with my lower console that they forgot to send me. I'm calling him tomorrow to see what's up.
Cheers

Thanks ... I actually already emailed KC since he sold me my GT500 body kit ...
Is the lower console necessary? I thought that just has two tiny holes in the back for the LED's ...

Its not needed, except to accomodate the processor. But that can simply be relocated. I want it because I'm changing my interior color to black.
KC has helped me out lots too, but Partscheap got me a better price than KC could, so I went with them this time.

Yeah, let us know how you made out! I was going to add this, but went with the homemade version that a fellow TMS member posted a while ago. His idea is brilliant, and the best part, only $30 worth of materials and now I have blue LED in the footwells.

I have to get the pics onto my computer. It's not hooked up yet, as I had to get the wiring diagrams from my dealer to see how the factory wired it. 2 wires go to the auto tranny pigtail and 1 goes to the SJB - that's it. I just need to make a wiring harness, as I don't want to splice the wires in case I need to disconnect it. I'll try and post tonight the pics I have so far.

If you want to save some money and don't want to buy the lower console, then you will need to drill holes into the sides for the rear lights, and enlarge the cupholder area as seen below. The one on the left is the 08:

The button just snaps into place, while theclear ring is sandwiched b/n the console and cup holder. There are no screws that I got with this, but I used 5 6 X 7/16 screws w/ washers (the plastic is very soft! Use the washers to keep from splitting the plastic.).

Here is what it looks like put together.
For the rear lights - the lights are actually part of the wiring harness, while outside covers are just that - covers. The light goes on the back, and the cover pushes through the hole to snap onto the end of hte harness w/ the light.
The processor just screws onto the bottom of the cupholder, and the harness from the button to the processor just snaps into place. At this point, there is only 1 pigtail left unconnected, and that's where I am now:
I need to take the wire from pin#2 from the ambient lighting pigtail to pin#4 on the tranny pigtail - and pin#10 to pin#1 onthe tranny pigtail. A third wire from pin#1 goes to a connector by the SJB, which I haven't looked for yet. I then need to make a harness to connect the front lights to the ambient lighting pigtail.
I'll post more as I get to it - going to the wreckers int he next couple days to get some male/female pigtail to make my harness.

Any luck with the wiring? When you have it all working ... could you post the wiring diagram? Thanks!
