2010+ center cap on 2005+ steering wheel (hurst did it)

Ok.. what's the deal here? There's been a number of times that I and other have asked how we can inexpensively put the 2010+ aluminum center cap on a 2005+ steering wheel but all responses point to having to buy the whole 2010 steering wheel, just for the cap. Then Hurst seems to just be making fun of us by putting a 2005+ steering wheel in a 2010+ car with the 2010+ center cap.

I noticed that too...and is that the base model wheel (no leather)? And yeah...That shift **** scares me too. It reminds me of some of the wood dash kits I've seen.

That is simply the base model 2010 wheel, and it comes that way. You *can* do the swap, but you have to acquire the different button, and completely disassemble the airbag. Not a job for the weak.

The button is not only glued on, but is also 'tabbed' into place. This is to do two things: it won't rattle, and it won't go flying into your chest or such if your airbag goes off.

Others have put "buttons" (stickers?) on top of the one that's there, but that does a buildup look, and isn't nearly as good looking IMO.

Hope that helps.
