Glad it helped you guys. I'm 5'5", no need for me to get one of those. Now, if there was an easy way to get the clutch about an inch closer to the seat

I would do what this kid did in the second Indiana Jones movie. I would think that 2 2x4's should do the trick.

Question. How soft is it? Looks hard in the pic. Does it give like a wet kitchen sponge, or more like on of those red rubber ***** that you played with during 3rd grade?

oatmeal hit the nail on the head. I'm 6' 2" and I have the exact same problem. What I noticed was that I tended to sit with my leg cocked out so my right foot was pointing towards the right side of the car at a 30 degree angle or so. This rotated my knee right into the plastic (and yes, it is uncomfortable!).
If I rotated my foot to a more verticle position, my knee naturally rotated back towards the drivers side of the car and away from the sharp edge of the console. The funny thing is I am just as comfortable sitting like this as with my foot/knee splayed out. It's just habit for me to sit the other way!

My knee keeps hitting the key fob. Twice I've triggered buttons on the darn thing. Once I set off the panic alarm as I was sitting in my garage, and once I popped the trunk as I was driving. I was really surprised when the trunk lid popped open.

and you thought someone had a fob for your car ? my son he's 9 yrs gave me the best advice dad are you listening adjust your seat # 1 so you can shift with out wacking your arm on the councel # 2 to bring it lower after you shorten your key chain length , darn if he wasn't right and for his reward I'm gonna do my best to make the passenger seat fully auto as the drivers seat.

Maybe you should raise the height of the steering wheel so that your legs won't be pushed outwards.
I'm 6'-2" and 200lbs with a 34" inseam and I don't have that problem at all. If anything, my knees touch the underside of the dash.

Just a question: Are you guys bow-legged or have skating legs or whatever?
I'm 5'7" and I have the knee thing going on in my current car (smaller). If you are bow-legged, then sitting legs straight out would probably not be confortable. I think it has something to do with the angle of the knee joints. I have a bow-legged friend who's feet are almost horizontal on the pedals. Hahahahah.. Built for "heel-toe" shifting. Anyway, guess its gonna be good I'm getting a bigger car.

I use the console to brace my right knee and the speaker for the left knee since we have useless dead pedals.
You could just drive around with cruise control and not use your right leg at all. ........... OR you could check out the instructions on this site for disassembling the center console

oh my God, I've been looking for a knee pad for my Mustang for almost 3 years now. Long road trips have been misery. I'm 5'9" by the way, and the console hits the edge of my knee at exactly the wrong spot!

Can you say "Design Flaw"! The first time I got in a 05 to test drive it I hit my knee so hard on the console it brought tears to my eyes! I never drove the car and have never desired to buy one again!!
