2005+ Wooden Steering Wheel

I have seen some articles in magazines for this but not online. Does anyone here have one, suggest not to get one? Thanks

Hit Stangnut up - he has one. I've seen it in person and it looks fantastic.

Dang that looks awesome!
I'd want the black one, with the thumb bumps on it.
How would you change the wheels?

That CF GT500 wheel and also the piano black GT wheel are gorgeous. I wonder what kind of exorbitant price they're charging to do those?

A guy on the SAI forums has one in his SGT. He has the darker IUP dash and it looks great with that.

WOW those look great, I wonder what the price tag is on them. I have the light IUP and that piano black one would look nice, Id like the CF as well. I find the stock one alittle plain and have been looking for something to use as a replacement. Would be nice if there were a few other pieces to match and help it all flow together

Sorry I missed this thread guys. I guess I don't get in the Interior Mods section too much. Thanks for all the compliments.

Anyway, I got the wheel from www.stwheel.com in May '06 and at the time it was $1000 with a $200 core charge for my stock wheel. Even though most people would NEVER spend that much on a steering wheel, for me, it was one of those "GOTTA HAVE IT!!" mods once I saw it.

As for how to change out the wheel, it's actually pretty easy. I disconnected the battery (couldn't find the airbag module to disconnect), pulled off the trim, removed the airbag, disconnected the wires, removed the 2 screws holding the wheel on, and that was it. No puller needed.

Here's the thread from when I originally installed it:
Just got a woody!

Grant was supposedly coming out with a wheel. I would guess it would be less expensive than the other option, which looks really nice.

A little patience might be rewarded.
