2005 V6 aftermarket radio with no sound

I have the 2005 Base V-6 and am trying to install an aftermarket double din Bluetooth. Everything seems to work but I cant get any sound at all coming from any of the speakers. I plugged up the factory head back up and they play. There is no factory amp as far as I know. I have the Metra harness so I wouldnt have to cut any wires. Is there something that I am missing? I have the red to red , yellow to yellow, black to black etc...

Welcome to the forums!

Haayy... waait a second... kinda sus... are you the Imposter?!?

Well, anyway. To answer the question, first, it's important to know if it's a base, Shaker 500, or Shaker 1000, because those all have slightly different wiring needs. And different harnesses to patch up to the factory one. And/or just outright run your own wires to bypass the OEM things. Depends on where you're goin' with it.

Second, red to red, black to black... that's concerning. Because typically that doesn't really work out. Oh, the red-red probably will, but the white-white won't, because it was supposed to be white-purple. Blue-yellow. Colors don't mean anything in a harness splice, the 'pin-out' does (aka, what wire goes to what thing.)

You need to examine the pinout wiring diagram of the head unit and the same for the Metra harness, and re-wire accordingly.

If it still doesn't work, I'd put in the OEM radio and ensure things still work with that... as I'm very curious if you didn't blow something out by mis-wiring something. Be sure to run the fader and balance about to get each speaker individually.

Wiring is so fun. Hope that helps!
