Unhappy

I know there have been many threads on this topic and I think I read them all. :bang:

But... has ANYONE installed a ducktail yet?

Which one and do you have pictures? :worship: :worship:

I've been thinking of buying the Xenon one but these are the only pictures I've seen of it. Would love to see more pictures.

My car was ordered with the spoiler so I really don't want to go with CDC and have to fill in holes.

Robyn, when someone installs one, don't yo think they will start a new thread with pics? I know I would.

I think everyone is limbo right now because they are waiting to find out issues regarding the third brake light. Don't order yet though... wait for everyone to come out with one and get all the issues straight. I wouldn't rush into it. And as far as the holes in your trunklid, I am 99% sure that no company is going to come out with a ducktail that will cover those holes. I took my spoiler off to stripe it and the holes go about 6 inches back from the end of the trunk. I think you will have to have them filled and repaint the trunklid. Shouldn't cost more than $200. Maybe even closer to a hundred if you find the right shop.

I guess your right, I should wait. I just thought I'd have the spoiler put on when it goes in to have the stripes painted. Xenon says it will cover the holes but I'd want to see that before I believe it. I suppose it won't be a big deal to put it on later. Car is being built today, due April 2nd!

Congrats on the car... shouldn't be more than a week or two before you get it. And yeah, I'd be real surprised if Xenon's spoiler covered the holes. And if it does, how is that going to look? I just don't know. If you are having your stripes painted on before you get the ducktail, just have them fill and repaint the trunk and then paint the stripes on it like you have no spoiler (maybe you will like the way that looks anyway and opt out of the ducktail). But if you get the ducktail, bring that in by itself and have them paint it seperately and attach it after. Of course, have them dry-fit the ducktail and mark exactly where the stripes are on your car before you leave so they get it just right.

Sounds like a plan, thanks. Guess I'm just in a hurry to do everything at once! Got to have patience.

If I ever get my car back, I'll be putting the Roush kit on it, so I'll post picks of the rear once it's done. Like you, I have a rear spoiler, so I'm curious as to just how well the holes can be filled. I'll take some good close-ups for all to see.

Like I said, though, this depends on when I get my car back!

If you find a shop to do that for $100, I wouldn't call that the right shop. I'd be scared to death of them.

Installed pics from Tulsa Autoshow (stolen from stangscuba98a!):

And yes, it covers the factory spoiler mounting holes although you need to drill a couple of new ones for the Xenon ducktail. Looks great IMO!

WOW...

Looks much better than I thought it would.

Thanks for the pictures

I'm really considering the Xenon one. I want to see the new Shelby to see if it looks similar but from the small clip in the paper, it looks like it might be close.

COOL

Sorry, forgot about the "other mods" part...

here's a link to my pic http://forums.bradbarnett.net/index.php?sh...pic=6217&st=780 (hopefully the link'll work!) - new wheels and springs. My car is something like 8 posts down the page.

I currently have the Diablo Predator, 3.73 gears, Steeda pulleys and Steeda drop-in filter to go into the car once I get it back.

Also, the Roush bodykit is apparently being shipped tomorrow.

Got a call from the shop and they've finally got the last part they required to fix the car, so I hoping that in a couple of weeks, I'll have it back with the kit on! Woohoo!!!

I'll agree. Xenon's ducktail looks better than the GT500. Still debating if i like the one on ebay's ducktail better, though.

Anyone have a website for Xenon?

Future owner of a 05 GT. Gotta decide color. (burgundy, black, silver, or blue). Definitely NEED a good ducktail.

How could you not like it better... it actually part of the car! Man that looks awesome. I wonder how much it would cost to get a shop to do that.

Are you talking about the GT with the yellow fogs and stripes I think GT500 replica/look alike kirby?? That ducktail isn't part of the car, it's molded onto the car so you cannot see the separation between the 2.

Matt
