Windows Louvers

First off I would like to ask everyone's opinion on what there favourite Quarter windows louvers are. I have seen the aluminum astra hammond ones and was wondering if anyone has those installed and what ther thoughts on them are. Also are the louvers usually sold in pairs or singles, because they are really expensive if those web prices are for singles.

I'd go for the Roush ones. They're more expensive alright, about $330 a pair PAINTED & shipped to your door is the cheapest I've found so far. It's a lot of green for louvers I know. But I'm willing to pay the extra buck due to their quality and how smooth they look.

I know there's better priced ones out there but there's nothing worse than a mod that makes your car looks cheap. If you can't afford a nice mod immediately, then just hold tight, save a little more and get the smooth stuff. You'll be happy you did.

If you start a poll, I guarantee you'll see the most popular will be the SHR louvers. Everything else is just a tack on.

I'm leaning towards the CDC ones. I was just wondering now that if the price of $189 was for one or 2

The prices for all 1/4 louvers are for a pair not just one. They only show one because obviously the other side is identical.

I'm partial to the CDC louvers. Plus I got them from another forum member already painted for $150 if I remember correctly. With that said though I do like the SHR louvers after seeing them in person.

I have become very fond of the CDC louvers as well. I recently bought mine from another member too.....I like the SHR louvers, but I am just not ready to pull the rear glass out yet....Perhaps one day.....

yeah I think the CDC ones make the car look more meaty and that is what I want. Is it a good idea to get them pre-painted

Anyone have the SHR louvers on a black stang? I would like to see what it looks like if you have pics.
Also, what is your opinion on the painted set. Does it look like it is done well.?
Did you install yourself or get someone to install?

I like the Silverhorse Racing alot. they are great looking louevers. I just cant see myself pulling out the glass, in the event later down the road I dont like them anymore, i have to pay to put the glass back in the windows.

I personally have the DG Custom Auto Louevers and love them. great louevers! they are the only stick on louevers you can see through. the company is great, and good quality products. and these louevers come painted to match your car.

Not true I can see through my CDC louvers. 95% of the louvers on the market allow you to see through.

Those are the best looking ones, next to the SHR ones. They don't look tacked on. The CDC ones aren't bad, either.

Are you sure your not talking about the Scoops? TacoBill has DG louvers and I have CDC louvers so I've seen and driven in a car with both. The visibilty is I dentical. So I'm not sure what your talking about.

Here's a pic of my CDC louvers. Both pics are taken from angles you would experience while driving.

Second pic Passenger side.

Pics of TB's DG louvers. Visibilty looks slighty better because pic was taken from an angle not visible to driver while driving.

Few more pics showing the openings between both louvers further proving visibilty is dam near Identical.

I rest my case. BTW-My point isn't to prove one is better than the other only to show you that your visibilty theory is wrong. I think DG,SHR, and CDC all have great louvers. It's all up to personal taste. Also if I remember correctly your the one that introduced the DG louvers into the forum so you may have something to gain by getting people on board the DG train. I know it's not your company but hey that doesn't mean DG hasn't offered you something for pushing they're product. In fact I think your their way of bypassing the Forum vendor fees.

Roush

I'm biased with the Roush ones. I bought non painted and had them painted locally (lot cheaper than buying from Roush painted). Also, note that best price was from Kevin Casey from Clevenger Ford! Roush ones are about the only ones that are easily removable to clean the window.
