I do not think that the grills are the same. With that being said I am pretty sure that there is an aftermarket grill that will . It is made for the V6 cars but has the GT fog lights. I believe that you would have to get fog lights and a wiring harness. If your V6 has the pony package fog lights then you would just need an adapter as the V6 and GT fog lights use different bulbs. The GT has H10 bulbs and the V6 has H11 bulbs. There short plug and play adapters available that allow you to use the switch and harness that is in the car and just add the adapters. I added a few links. Just google 2006 V6 to Gt grill or something similar. There are many options I think.
Good luck.

So if I am reading this correctly you want the bigger fog light look but will not use them.
Yes if you get the grill that fits the V6 but has the big fog light you will be all set.
A grill from a GT will not fit the V6. You need one that fits the V6 but looks like the GT grill.
I think that there are some options with no fog light holes.

The reason an "OEM" grill from a GT will not fit the V6, is the mounting tabs are in different locations and will not line up with the V6 bumper mounting slots. If your dead set on swapping out your V6 grill towards a grill from a stock 05-09 GT? you will also be required to swap out the V6 bumper towards one from a GT in order for the mounting tabs to line up and fit properly into the bumper's mounting slots.

Just for a little more info: The GT grille is both wider and taller, and will sit further outward if you even do cram it in the v6 opening. Which you shouldn't. It just won't work right.
You *can* put a V6 into a GT grille. It'll actually work. However, being the smaller, it will leave a gap around the edge, and/or if it's inset, you may need to do something about that.
That said... *nothing* is impossible if one drinks school, stays in milk, doesn't do work, has a dremel and a hammer and time and effort and huile de coude... you can get that grille stuck in there no problem! Go for it! I believe in you!
And welcome to the forums!
/I'm swapping the bumper if I want that grille, or I'm buying a made-for-V6 grille, but that's me.

I was going to suggest get a GT style grille for the v6.

Cheapest option other than having to swap to the GT bumper and whatnot.

Sure, it can be made to fit with some fabrication skills involved. However, I really don't think its what the OP has in mind. Therefore IMO his best solution would be to go with either an aftermarket grill which has the larger GT fogs made to fit with the stock V6 opening and bumper or if he wants to keep everything "OEM" then he'll need to swap out both the grill and bumper in order to fit and line up properly without requiring any modifications.
