I would be interested in it depending on cost and the quality of the final product.

This is what I suggest you do..
Buy a pair of fenders... Go to Ebay, and advertise the fenders, with a reserve price for parts, time and materials.. Also, say you will paint to match any factory 2005 Mustang Color..
Get the fenders built, but advertise your completed ones on your car..
This way, you let people bid on the fenders.. This gives you an indication of how many people would have interest.. The community here, is a very very small portion of the entire Mustang community.. 99.9% of all 2005 Mustang owners, dont even know this website exist.. But on Ebay, you will have a better gauge of the value of the fender to 2005 Mustang owners..
I say you start there, and consider any business investments after the auction...

thanks MSp,
and sure i'd make them for non- 05's i'd just have to look atthe fender and think a lil bit to make them look good. Im contemplating startin my own custom shop, so any business is good business, lol - Roger

MSP's idea is excellent. Maybe even have a core charge for the old fenders (why would anyone want to keep them)that way you will pretty much have one always ready to go.

WOW! Thats an awsome idea!! This keeps his inventory always fresh with fenders to mod..
So if he does have a core charge, what would be the relative value to those that have cores? I would guess, it is important for him to also make a good profit for his time and effort spent on his own design for the fenders.. So we should post the price of the stock fenders, then figure out a good core value on fenders which could be traded in.. Most people will most likley keep their fenders.. But for those that would like to trade in fenders, how do you go about giving a just value for them, while still maintaining a profit margin for hippiehead025, while still being able to sale a good fender dessign on a regular basis?
Tough questions I know... Of course, in the beginning I guess hippiehead025 could think of a good value for the customer, while accepting all fender tradins, to build up his inventory slightly.. Most guys will keep their fenders.. I mean fender benders happen, and it sure would be good to have a painted pair of good fenders on hand, while you send the dented ones out to be repaired.. I think this could work out good in a number of different ways for the customer and for hippiehead025.

i need to find out how much a stock fender costs.... then make the core charge 2times what the fender coast ( this is how you absolutley get the fender back) if i were to do a core charge. ( automotive parts do this alot, they jack up the priceo f the core 100x the value of the part to make sure they get ti back ( flywheels, starters, alternators, a/c stuff)

I think you can try that idea later on.. For now, concentrate on getting your first auction started.. The core charge can be worked out later, after a demand for the fender has been established.. Once you have normal auctions for the fender, then a core charge is more of a way to allow people to roll over to the new fender easier.. Increasing your product distrobution.. Be carefull though, once your idea hits mainstream, competition may pop up.. Your first buyers, will most likley be people skilled like yourself maybe, who may bid high to understand the technology used to create the fender..
But, I wouldnt worry about that now.. For now, just concentrate on your first auction..
