Wheels/Tires?
After I went to look at the Mustang I was as equally impressed with the looks as much as the great write-up (car and driver) did on the car. I believe Ford really did an incredible job on this car as far a quality, etc.
Getting to my point, the wheels on the one I saw in stock was not all that great as the ones I saw on this web site as standard wheels. Has anyone ordered the Mustang yet and are they offering more factory/aftermarket options than mentioned on the official Ford we site when you build your own car? Thanks again.

While I understand the need to have something to stand out, I myself am a bit weird when it comes to wheels/tires.
I have yet to find a case where any aftermarket wheels look better than the ones that are stock or options on the car. I don't know, I think it's either too much bling factor, or corner cutting designs that aren't as, uh, well, polished or finished. Sharper edges, that kind of thing.
And those rubber band tires? Ugh. Won't ever like 'em. They look rice. I'm sorry if you like them, but on a Mustang?
Now I'd be the first to admit that sometimes a car comes with some seriously ugly wheels from the factory, so anything would be better, but I would stay in the same manufacturer if possible rather than go aftermarket.
If the aftermarket made 17 or 18 inch '05 V6 bright machined wheels with spinners with the same exact detail except for the size of the wheel? Well pardner, I'd be having a set of those on my GT.

I have 4 brand new 255/45/17 of these kumho tires sitting in my living room waiting for my stang. Those 235's are only gonna have 3 miles on them before I sell them on e- bay. ( my friends shop is 3 miles from the dealership)
Well, the (supposed to be) optional 18s are 18x9, so you can at least fit 9" of tire in there on all four corners. Off hand, does anyone know the weight of the standard bullitts? I'd like 18s but want to make sure they are the same or less weight.

way too skinny! :nono:

[/b][/quote]the widest you should go on the front would be 275's . On the back the widest i would go would be 315's. I'm stickin with 255's on the stock 8 inch rims. Anything wider should get a 9 inch wheel. The pricing gets a little pricy after that. I got the kumhos for $126 per tire.

You might want to go with 255/50/17 instead of 255/45/17. Putting 45s on there will put your speedo off +2.6mph at 60mph. Also, the sidewall profile is 1/2" shorter and it may make the car look jacked up (not messed up just larger wheel gap). If you were to go with 255/50/17, it would only be +0.3mph at 60mph, and the sidewall profile is only 7/100" shorter than stock. You can get 255/50/17 BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDWS at www.tirerack.com for $130 each. Here is a good link on tire size calculations: http://www.1010tires.com/TireSizeCalculator.asp?.
Hope this helps!
